Open Question: How come pasta never got popular in Europe outside of Italy?

Why is pasta, especially noodle pasta only popular in Italy? I think the Polish made potato dumplings (so a form of pasta), but I don't know of any other European country creating pasta or any boiled dough dishes.... read more
